Traffic stop leads to chase
A 23-year-old Minneapolis man, Bryce Douglas Mueller, faces charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and driving with a cancelled license after an April 15 incident in Hastings.
According the complaint, a Hastings Police officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of North Frontage Road and Highway 55. He conducted a traffic stop and approached the vehicle. The driver was identified as Mueller. A check of his background information indicated that there was an active warrant for his arrest.
When Mueller was advised that he was under arrest, he refused to leave the vehicle, restarted it and drove away. Officers pursued him for some distance at high speed. Eventually they were able to stop him. He was arrested and taken to the Dakota County Jail.
