Tennis team's win followed by loss

Hastings' boys tennis team earned another win, against Forest Lake May 4. The Raiders won 4-3.

It was a tough day for singles matches. Ben Carlson lost 0-6 and 2-6, Brett Peterson lost 3-6 and 6-7 (4-7 tiebreaker) and Chase Kasel lost 0-6 and 2-6. Josh Houska managed a win in three sets, scoring 1-6, 7-5 and 7-6 (9-7 tiebreaker).

The Raiders played a strong doubles game. Matt Lund and Jake Langeslay won 6-4 and 6-3, Elliot Siebenaler and Cody Arndtson won 6-2 in both sets, and Charlie Carpenter and Mitch Murphy won 4-6, 7-6 (7-5 tiebreaker) and 6-4.

Vs. Cretin-Derham Hall

The Raiders suffered a close loss to Cretin-Derham Hall May 6, losing 3-4.

After a 4-6 loss in his first set, Carlson recovered with a 6-0 set, but couldn't hold on and lost 3-6 in the last set. Houska gave a similar performance, losing 2-6, 6-1 and 3-6. Peterson lost 6-7 (6-4 tiebreaker) and 1-6. Kasel produced the only singles win, 6-7 (2-6 tiebreaker), 6-1 and 7-6 (8-6 tiebreaker)

Lund and Langeslay teamed up again in doubles for a 7-5, 6-4 win. Siebenaler and Arndtson won 4-6, 6-0 and 7-5, and Murphy and Carpenter lost 3-6 and 5-7.
