Tennis team dominates East Ridge, White Bear Lake

While the Raider boys tennis team has had mixed results this season, recent matches against East Ridge and White Bear Lake ended with seven Hastings wins each.

Vs. East Ridge

Hastings played seven matches against East Ridge May 13 and came home with wins on every court.

In singles, Ben Carlson won 6-2 and 6-0; Josh Houska won 6-2 and 6-4; Matt Lund won 2-6, 6-4 and 6-3; and Chase Kasel won 6-1 and 6-2. Steve Roach lost 2-8 in an exhibition match.

After splitting up for a few matches, Jake Langeslay and Brett Peterson teamed up again in doubles for a 6-4 and 6-3 win. Elliot Siebenaler and Cody Arndtson won 7-5 and 6-3, and Mitch Murphy and Charlie Carpenter won 6-2, 3-6 and 6-2.

Vs. White Bear Lake

The Raiders traveled to White Bear Lake May 12.

In the No. 3 doubles spot, Murphy and Carpenter played the only three-set match of the day but came out with the win, 6-2, 6-7 and 6-2. Siebenaler and Ardntson won in the No. 2 spot 6-4 and 6-3. Langeslay and Peterson won 6-3 and 7-5.

In singles, Carlson won 6-3 and 6-2, Houska won 6-4 in both sets, Lund won 6-2 and 6-0 and Kasel won 6-3 and 3-1 (default).

The 7-0 wins improved the Raiders' conference record to 5-4 and their overall record to 6-6.
