Playoffs begin for the Hastings Hawks at 8 p.m. Friday, July 30 at Veteran's Park here.

Hastings will play host to the Northfield Knights in the first round of action.


There will be door prizes, contests during the game, food at the concession stand and the Green Mill Beer Garden.

Hastings and Northfield will play a best-of-three series. The winner of the series will advance to face the Miesville Mudhens in the second round.

Hastings is the No. 4 seed. Northfield is the No. 5.

Hastings has an 18-16 record on the season.

The two teams have played twice this year already, with Hastings winning both games. Hastings won the first meeting, 1-0, in 14 innings. In the second game, Hastings won 9-1.

Vs Miesville

Hastings played host to Miesville in the regular season finale on Monday night. Miesville won, 4-1, keeping its perfect Classic Cannon Valley League record in tact.

Miesville scored two runs in the second inning and two in the sixth.
