Taffe called up to play with Minnesota Wild - earns assist

Hastings graduate Jeff Taffe has been called up to play with the Minnesota Wild hockey team. He joined the team in time for their game Thursday night in Los Angeles and earned an assist on the team's first goal. Minnesota won, 4-2.

Taffe played 21 shifts and was on the ice for 17 minutes.

The Wild signed Taffe in the offseason. He had been playing with their top farm team this season, the Houston Aeros.

In 23 games for the Aeros he has 17 points.

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director. He was previously general manager of the Farmington Independent and Rosemount Town Pages from 2000 to 2007. He worked at the Hastings Star Gazette from 1996 to 2000 as a photographer and reporter. He also worked as a photographer and writer at the Pope County Tribune in Glenwood.
