Speaker will discuss human trafficking
Bukola Oriola, now an award-winning journalist, will talk about her experiences when the United Methodist Church women's group, Mugs and Muffins, hosts an appearance by her at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at the church, 615 W. 15th St.
Bukola has been an award winning journalist for 10 years. She covered the education beat for six years in Nigeria before coming to the United States. In the United States, she partners with Civil Society to make public presentations about human trafficking and domestic abuse as she tells her own personal story.
Joining her at the April 10 presentation will be Linda Miller, executive director of the Civil Society she founded in 1996. Civil Society is the coalition leader for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Rescue and Restore Coalition, State of Minnesota.
Oriola will have copies of her book, "Imprisoned," for purchase following the presentation.
Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. The presentation is free but a free will offering will be taken to cover costs.
