Soccer girls are 2-4 so far this season

The Hastings girls soccer team has a 2-4 record so far this season.

The Raiders picked up their second win recently in Duluth with a 2-1 victory over Duluth Denfeld. The game was planned for Monday, Aug. 26, but weather forced the game to be cancelled. It was rescheduled for the following morning. The problem was, Hastings had several players who were involved with Link Crew, and they had prior commitments. Those students came back to Hastings, so Hastings coach Scott Meier blended his varsity and his junior varsity together to make up the team.

Hastings got goals by Elle Cooper in the first half and then, in the second, Sam Schorzman scored a goal to put Hastings up 2-0.

Denfeld scored a late goal, but it was too little, too late.

"I was real proud of all our girls as they all played and contributed to this win," Meier said.

Vs Apple Valley

Hastings lost to Apple Valley on Saturday, 4-2.

Vs Mounds View

Hastings lost to Mounds View on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 10-0.
