Shots fired on Shannon Drive on Tuesday night; one person arrested

Shots were fired outside a Hastings residence on Tuesday night, prompting a sizeable police response.

At about 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Hastings police responded to the 4100 block of Shannon Drive on the report of shots fired.

They responded and ended up taking a Hastings man, Richard Miller, into custody. He was arrested and booked on the probable cause charge of recklessly discharging a firearm in a municipality. He was also arrested for domestic assault.

According to Hastings police, Miller got into an argument with his spouse. She left the home and as she was doing so she told another person at the residence about the situation. That person heard a gunshot and called police. Eventually, two more shots were fired.

When officers arrived, they called for Miller to come out. He did and surrendered. He did not give a statement.

Officers found three spent 45-caliber casings outside the home.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
