Seton selects new principal
Her life and much of educational background are tied to Hastings.
And now, Jill Moes will return to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School as principal next month.
In an announcement this past week, parish administrator Mark Dittman said Moes will succeed Rita Humbert as principal of the Catholic School here in Hastings.
"Jill is currently the principal at Immaculate Conception in Columbia Heights and brings a richness of education knowledge and experience with her to SEAS," said Dittman.
Moes, a native of Hastings, and graduate of Seton School and Hastings High School, will begin her new position Nov. 15.
The Seton School principal position became vacant when Rita Humbert left in early September to become principal at Eastside Elementary School in River Falls, Wis. Humbert had been at Seton for 11 years.
During the past two months, Larry Nobles, a retired teacher/principal and Seton member, has been interim school principal. The selection process began immediately after Humbert left, and included the participation of former Independent School District 200 Superintendent and parish member Ken LaCroix.
