SEAS honors a parent and two students
Sarah Heil Brenny is a big fan of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School. When her family moved to Hastings, her three sons, Noah, Isaiah and C.J., were enrolled in the school.
“I’m a huge supporter,” she said.
Last week, the school honored her because of her family’s donations made within the last year. They honored her parents, Barb and Jerry Heil, who died in a ship accident in Italy two years ago.
“I took some of the memorial money afterwards and decided to support the school,” said Heil Brenny.
Her sons are active in the sports programs and there was a definite need there, she said.
A foundation was established in her parents’ names and portions of that were used to purchase new uniforms for the basketball, volleyball and soccer teams. A new in-floor volleyball set with referee stand, basketballs, soccer balls, and 20 personalized padded chairs for the home and visiting teams were also donated. All were done in the school’s logo and colors.
Heil Brenny was presented a plaque from the students.
As part of the ceremony, two students were also honored.
Griffin Myers was presented the Ron Driscoll Award, presented annually in recognition of the school’s former athletic director, who built a strong program and raised funds to restore the school’s gymnasium.
Brittany Eliasson was presented the Bernie Burr award. He was long-time supporter of the school and its sports programs. Members of his family were in attendance.
