Ron Haugen brings his guitar music to LeDuc Historic estate
by Jane Lightbourn • Staff writer
Ron Haugen plays guitar and a little bit of every kind of music. The community will get a sampling of his skills when he performs in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at the LeDuc Historic Estate as part of the summer concert series.
Haugen made his start as a country music performer and continues to bring his repertoire of classic country to venues throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has also presented a number of Christian concerts in the area. His CDs are “Happy Holidays,” offering a variety of holiday songs, and “New Beginnings,” offering a number of favorite hymns.
The remainder of the summer concert schedule is:
Aug. 17 – The Squires. They have been here before as part of the summer concert series and at the Little Log House Antique Power Show. They appear at weddings, dances, community events and play music of all varieties including modern, classic rock, polkas and waltzes.
Aug. 24 – Gloryland Gospel Band. The group originated in 1998 and its 15 musicians share gospel and old time music. They began as a gospel band singing for worship services at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Eden Prairie. The Gloryland Gospel Band was formed in 2004 and now sings for people in the south and southwest suburbs. They have two CDs – “I’ll Fly Away” and “I love to Tell the Story.”
Aug. 31 – Kyle Tennis Jazz Trio. This smaller group is part of the larger Riverside Swing Band and plays mostly jazz music.
The summer concerts are sponsored by the Hastings Concert Association with support from businesses and individuals.
