Robert Frandrup, 64

Robert "Bob" Frandrup, age 64, of Hastings, passed away peacefully on July 14 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with cancer.

Bob was part owner of the family business, Frandrup Masonry Inc., until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Once retired, you could find him either on a lake, playing cribbage with his buddies, or spending time with his family. Bob will be remembered for his hard work ethic, love of a good time, passion for fishing, "Papa Dollars" to the grandkids for a kiss and hug, and his big smile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvie "Bud" and Dorothy Frandrup, and brother Charlie.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, JoLynn, and their three children, Chris, Anna (Rob) Judge, and Sara, plus the joys of his life, his granddaughters, Macy Frandrup and Olivia and Lauren Judge. Bob is also survived by his siblings Donna (Paul) Wagner, Rich (Mary), Luann (Larry) Beissel, Linda (Bob) Myers, David (Lisa), Bruce (Patty), Dan, and sister-in-law Karen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 106 W. Main St., Vermillion. A gathering will be held from 9-11:30 a.m.at St. John the Baptist School across the street from church. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Military honors provided by VFW Lyle Russell Post 1210. Honorary pallbearers are Rich Frandrup, David Frandrup, Bruce Frandrup, Dan Frandrup, Bill Collignon, Mike Beckman, Ron DeBettignies, Vern Lietzau, Jerry Josiwack, Gale Mann, Ron Butz, and Vern Letendre.
