Robert (Bob) Frahm
Bob Frahm, age 76, of Ocala, Fla., and Milaca, Minn., (formerly of Hastings, Minn.), beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2009, while in hospice care near his Florida home.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Frahm of Ocala, Fla.; daughter, Nancy (Dan) Peterson of Roseville, Minn.; son, Terry (Jean) Frahm of Apple Valley, Minn.; daughter, Lori (John) Taylor of Hastings, Minn; sister, Arlene Valentin; former spouse, Ardys Frahm; and grandchildren, Ellie, Annie, Julia, Eric, Maggie, Will and Charlie.
Bob was born on the family farm near Ivanhoe, Minn., on March 18, 1933. He graduated from Ivanhoe high school and began his 35-year career at the Great Northern Refinery (Koch Refinery) in Rosemount, Minn.
Bob was well-known for his tall 6'7' stature, but it was his social skills, quick wit and supportive friendship that those who knew him will remember most. He was an accomplished golfer, skier, card player, bowler and dancer. A self-taught golfer, Bob spent many years as a skilled and highly regarded competitor. He holds a number of course records, numerous club championships and tournament victories, and most importantly made hundreds of friends who shared his great love of the game.
Funeral services are scheduled for Jan. 5 in Ocala, Fla. A memorial service is being planned for Bob's "northern friends and family" sometime this spring. Prior notice of this event will be provided as details become available.
