Here are Rivertown Days events for Sunday.

Worship at the river

Community of Hope, supported by the Bless Hastings group of area pastors, will hold a community worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 18, at Jaycee Park along the Mississippi River. The service is open to the community.

The service will include inspirational music, led by Ryan Kowlessar, and a sermon presented by Per Nilsen, pastor at Community of Hope in Rosemount.

Duck race

The duck race, sponsored by the Hastings Area YMCA, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 18, along the Vermillion River - the finish line is near Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar. More than 2,000 of the multi-colored plastic ducks will be tossed into the river, with the first one to reach the finish line winning prizes. There is even a prize for the last one to finish.

Five grand prizes will be awarded - a savings bond, a complete Treasure Island overnight package with buffet and bowling, lift tickets from the Afton Alps Ski Area, gift certificates from area restaurants, and a YMCA membership package. Gas certificates will be presented for the last duck across the finish line.

The plastic ducks can be purchased for $5 each at the YMCA , 85 Pleasant Drive, or from YMCA board members. They will also be available race day at the river.

Each has a number, which is recorded for race results.

Tour De Hastings

The Tour De Hastings begins at the Hastings Area YMCA. A short tour of 10 miles and a longer tour of 50 miles is planned .

Both begin at 8 a.m.

Hastings Sings

The finals of the Hastings Sings 2010 competition will be held at 4 p.m. at Jaycee Park music stage.
