Riverside Company wins FAME show choir competition in Branson

Riverside Company, the top Hastings High School show choir, won the FAME show choir national qualifier on Saturday in Branson, Mo. 

The choir was the grand champion and earned caption awards for best vocals, best choreography, best band, show design, outstanding female soloist (Miranda Poncelet), outstanding female performer in all shows (Sabrina Astar) and oustanding instrumentalist in combo (Laura Lunde).

The choir has qualified to compete at the FAME national championship in Chicago on April 25-26. 

Chad Richardson

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director. He was previously general manager of the Farmington Independent and Rosemount Town Pages from 2000 to 2007. He worked at the Hastings Star Gazette from 1996 to 2000 as a photographer and reporter. He also worked as a photographer and writer at the Pope County Tribune in Glenwood.
