Rev. Charles N. Curtis, age 96, of Waupaca, Wis., passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. He was born in Roscoe, S.D., Nov. 9, 1912, a son of the late Charles and Myrtle (Niles) Curtis.
He married Esther Graham Sept. 14, 1933. She preceded him in death on May 10, 1999. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Waupaca
Survivors include his four sons, Charles (Maye) Curtis, Hastings, Minn.; David (Sharon) Curtis, Nekoosa, Wis.; Frederick (Sandra) Curtis, DeKalb, Texas; and Richard Curtis, Richmond, Texas; son-in-law: Pastor Leon Leeds, Waupaca; cousins, Howard (Marjorie) Niles, Sauk City, Wis. and Harold Niles, La Crosse, Wis. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther Curtis; daughter, Dorothy Leeds; granddaughter, LuDawn; two brothers, Tom and Walter; and a sister, Dorothy.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Waupaca with Reverend Larry G. Gross, officiating. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, Wis. Visitation was held one hour before the service at the church.
