Remaining section of old Highway 61 bridge knocked into the river

One of the few remaining pieces of the Highway 61 bridge in Hastings was knocked into the Mississippi River at about 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11.

The piece will be lifted out and hauled away to a scrap yard in South St. Paul.

All four lanes of the new bridge are expected to open Sunday, Nov. 17.
