All spring long, Minnesotans have enjoyed wonderful weather. In fact, the weather was so nice in March that golf courses even opened early.

So, it stands to reason, then, that on Monday, in the season's biggest golf tournament to date, it snowed. And rained. And the wind blew. And the windchill was down to 24 degrees.

Still, the Raiders didn't use the weather as an excuse -- Hastings went out and won the 20-team tournament, shooting a 328 to capture the crown at the Blaine TPC.

"I'm proud of how they all hung in there," coach Pete McGinnis said.

Matthew Radke was the co-medalist on the day with a 78. He had 10 pars, seven bogeys and one birdie. He hit 10 greens in regulation and 13 fairways.

"It's unbelievable how well he played with the conditions," McGinnis said.

Nick Tusa was second with a 79. He hit seven greens in regulation and eight fairways. He had just 29 putts on the round -- he was able to get up and down six times.

"That was a big key for him," McGinnis said. "He was very steady all day long."

Jacob Cooper had an 85 and Sam Otto shot an 86 to round out the varsity scoring. Also playing varsity were Mark Huneke, who had a 90, and Peyton Green, who had a 91.
