Raiders tennis team earns close win over Rangers, 4-3

The Hastings boys tennis team eked out another close win this week, edging Forest Lake, 4-3.

Hastings won two of the singles positions and two of the doubles spots to get to four wins.

Ben Klimek lost at first singles, 6-1, 6-1.

At second singles, Craig Nielsen won 3-6, 6-2,6-2.

Steve Roach lost at third singles, 6-1, 6-3, but Simon Schult won at fourth, 6-0, 7-5.

In doubles play, Hastings won two of the spots.

The top team of Cody Arndtson and Alex Zuzek won 6-4, 6-1.

The second team of Austin Houska and Danny Steiner won, too, 6-3, 6-3.

The third team of Robby Troje and Carson Whyle fell, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Hastings has a record now of 3-2 in Suburban East Conference play. The Raiders are 5-6 overall.

Vs Woodbury

Hastings lost to Woodbury on April 30, 6-1.

The lone winner on the day for Hastings was the top doubles team of Nielsen and Houska. They won 6-1, 7-5.

Vs Roseville

Hastings lost to Roseville on May 6, 6-1.

It was that doubles team of Houska and Nielsen that earned the win for Hastings.
