Raiders swim team beat Mustangs, 92-86

The Hastings boys swimming and diving team earned another relatively easy Suburban East Conference win last week.

Hastings beat Mounds View, 92-86.

The meet wasn’t as close as the score would indicate. The Raiders swam exhibition only in the final two events to give the Mustangs all the points.

Up next for Hastings is Woodbury, which comes to town at 6 p.m. tonight (Thursday) for an SEC meet.

Hastings then plays host to Roseville on Jan. 14 and to Forest Lake on Jan. 16.

Results from the meet went like this:

200 medley relay – team of Brandon Underwood, Cole Tipler, Thomas Everson and Jack VanZee, first, 1:42.18; team of Michael Everson, Bobby Moore, Aaron McCullough and Jack Gergen, 1:59.14.

200 freestyle – Colby Smith, first, 1:55.56; Jack Weldon, third, 2:02.62; Cal Gergen, fourth, 2:04.66.

200 individual medley – VanZee, first, 2:08.37; Hayden Schmitt, third, 2:11.54; Michael Everson, fourth, 2:16.70.

50 freestyle – Underwood, first, 22.73; Thomas Everson, second, 23.07; Gergen, fifth, 25.48.

Diving – Vova Tipler, first, 166.25; Ethan Kimmes, third, 128.70.

100 butterfly – Colby Smith, first, 54.12; Underwood, third, 57.14; Carter Williams, 1:05.25.

100 freestyle – Schmitt, first, 51.97; Tipler, third, 53.06; McCullough, 57.21.

500 freestyle – Stephen Smith, second, 5:33.71; Moore, fourth, 5:44.56; Weldon, fifth, 5:45.62.

200 freestyle relay – team of VanZee, Smith, Schmitt and Tipler, first, 1:34.94; team of Gergen, Smith, Weldon and Moore, 1:47.13.

100 backstroke – Thomas Everson, first, 56.48; Michael Everson, fourth, 1:04.87; McCullough, fifth, 1:05.06.

100 breaststroke – Tipler, 1:06.69; VanZee, 1:07.64; Gergen, 1:16.30.

400 freestyle relay – team of Thomas Everson, Colby Smith, Schmitt and Underwood, 3:31.76; team of Stephen Smith, Michael Everson, Weldon and McCullough, 3:51.75.
