Raiders start season with two wins

The Hastings girls hockey team got its season off to a great start Thursday night with a 5-2 win over Eastview.

Senior captain Josie Stepan led the charge for the Raiders with two goals and one assist.

Also scoring goals were Torri Holm (a captain), Hannah Simons (a captain) and Sami Claussen.

Assists were credited to Claussen, captain Kaitlin Stark and Natalie Simons (two).

Brooke Weber played in goal and made 18 saves on 20 shots.


On Tuesday night, it was the Danielle Duffy show for Hastings. She scored a hat trick in the first period, accounting for all three Hastings goals on the night. Her scores were enough to get Hastings past Farmington, 3-2, in a non-conference game.

Making assists were Kit Ruedy, Holm, Hannah Simons and Stepan.

Brooke Weber played in goal, making 15 saves on 17 shots.
