Raiders pick up SEC win over Woodbury

The Hastings girls tennis team scored a nice 5-2 win over Woodbury last week.

Hastings won three of the four singles positions, picking up three of the necessary four victories to get the win.

Jill Weinzettel won at first singles, 6-2, 6-2.

At second singles, Anna Foster won in three sets, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.

Annika Peterson lost at third singles, 7-5, 6-2, but Sammy Dabruzzi won at fourth singles, 7-6, 7-6.

In doubles play, Hastings earned two more wins.

The No. 1 team of Maddie Carlson and Lauren Mattmiller won 6-4, 7-5.

The second team of Katie Roach and Bailey Alter lost 6-2, 6-2.

The third team won 6-4, 6-1. That team was made up of Telma Roesler and Erin Henrichs.

Vs Mounds View

Hastings lost to Mounds View, 7-0.

The Mustangs have one of the top teams in the league again this year.

Weinzettel, Foster, Henrichs and Roesler made up the singles lineup.

In doubles, there were two close matches. Dabruzzi and Mattmiller lost at first doubles, 3-6, 6-2, 1-0.

The third team of Alter and Sara Lund also had a close match, losing 6-4, 7-5.
