Vs Woodbury

Hastings lost to Roseville on Friday night, 82-47.

Roseville and Woodbury tied for the conference title this season.

"They've got a really good team," Hastings coach Chad Feikema said. "They have three seniors who are among the top 50 in the state. They are deep and talented. It was a tough matchup for us. They're quickness and their defensive trouble, especially with (starting point guard) Joe (Dittrich) out."

Dittrich has missed the past several games because of concussion-related concerns.

Craig Nielsen led Hastings in scoring with 15 points.

Sam Skoyen had 13.

Also scoring were: Zach Wiese, 1; Ross Dylla, 2; Brandon McCarthy, 3; Drew Pottinger, 7; Bryce Garvey, 4; Josh Brown, 2.

Vs C-DH

Hastings lost last Tuesday night to Cretin-Derham Hall, 76-69 in overtime.

"That was probably one of our best efforts of the year," Feikema said. "We rebounded a lot better in that one."

Nielsen had 20 points and Skoyen had 19.

In addition, McCarthy had a nice night. He has been moved up from JV to replace Dittrich.

"He's given us a little bit of physicality and toughness," Feikema said. "He has rebounded the ball well and he was a key defender in the game."
