Believe it or not, the Hastings girls tennis team is already beginning to wind down its season.

Hastings is in its last week of the regular season before heading into sections next week.


The Raiders kicked off the final week of regular season play with a nice 5-2 victory over Park on Tuesday night.

Among those earning wins for Hastings was Jill Weinzettel, who was playing at No. 1 singles. Also winning at singles were Anna Foster, Erin Henrichs and Sammy Dabruzzi.

The doubles team of Telma Roesler eighth-grader Bridge Anderson teamed up to win at the third spot in three sets.


Hastings beat White Bear Lake last Thursday, 5-2.

Weinzettel won 6-3, 6-1.

Maddie Carlson lost 6-0, 6-3.

Foster won 6-1, 6-2.

Henrichs won 6-4, 6-1.

In doubles, Dabruzzi and Lauren Mattmiller won 6-1, 4-6, 1-0.

Annika Peterson and Bailey Alter lost at second doubles, 6-4, 6-4.

The third team of Katie Roach and Roesler won 6-1, 6-3.

On Tuesday, Hastings lost to the top team in the SEC, Forest Lake, 7-0. They are undefeated on the season and among the state’s top 10 teams.

On Wednesday, the Raiders lost to Red Wing, 5-2. Earning wins for the Raiders was Henrichs at third singles and Roesler and Roach at third doublues.

On Friday, Hastings lost to Eastview in a non-conference match.

Henrichs won at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-1.

The No. 2 doubles team of Peterson and Alter also won, 7-6, 6-3.
