Raider wrestlers take second at Kiffmeyer Duals
It’s either a heavyweight’s dream, or his nightmare.
In this case, it was Tony Lodermeier’s dream.
At the Kiffmeyer Duals in St. Cloud over the weekend, Hastings trailed Cambridge-Isanti in the semifinals of the tournament, 29-27, heading into his match, the final one of the duel.
Lodermeier, to put it mildly, came through for the Raiders.
He won, earning a pin at 3:45, to give the Raiders the win, 33-29.
Hastings ended up placing second at the tournament to St. Michael-Albertville. Hastings lost in the finals to STMA, 34-22.
In the opening round against Hammond Baptist, Hastings won handily, 78-6.
Vs Forest Lake
Hastings beat Forest Lake in a Suburban East Conference meet on Jan. 9, 60-3.
The meet, though, came with a price – senior captain Luke Rowh broke his ankle during his match at 138 pounds.
His match ended up being the only one Hastings lost in the meet.
