Raider wrestlers earn two more wins; now 16-3

The Hastings Raider wrestling team spent Thursday night at Cretin-Derham Hall wrestling in a triangular with the host Cretin-Derham Hall and St. Paul Central. The Raiders gave many wrestlers opportunities to wrestle on their way to decisive victories in both matches. Hastings improved to 16-3 on the season with their only losses coming at the Clash tournament in Rochester.


The Raiders increased their Suburban East Conference record to 6-0 on the season with another strong performance against Cretin. The outcome was never in doubt with the Raiders receiving three forfeits in the first four matches. In whole, the Raiders tallied six pins, two technical falls, and four forfeits on their way to a 70-3 win.

Vs. St. Paul Central

In the nightcap, Hastings wrestled the St. Paul Central Minutemen in a non-conference dual. The Raiders took the opportunity to give some wrestlers an opportunity to compete on the varsity mat. Still, Hastings cruised to another win over St. Paul Central. The Raiders scored six pins, one forfeit, two technical falls, and one major to claim a 59-16 win.
