Raider tennis team loses pair of SEC matches, including one to Ponies

The Hastings girls tennis team has stayed busy lately.

Hastings lost to Stillwater, 5-2, recently.

Katie Suchmova lost at first singles, 6-2, 6-2.

Also losing at singles were Hailey Lundquist, Morgan Tjomsland and Anna Foster.

In doubles play, Jill Weinzettel and Annika Peterson won 6-3, 6-4.

The second doubles team of Maddie Carlson and Caitlyn Judge also won, 7-6, 6-1.

The third doubles team of Sammy Dabruzzi and Abbie Williams lost in straight sets.

Eagan tournament

Hastings went 1-2 at a tournament in Eagan recently.

In the opening round, Hastings lost to Eagan, 4-3.

Lundquist lost at first singles, 6-7, 6-0, 1-0.

Tjomsland won at second singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Carlson won at third singles, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0.

Foster won at fourth singles.

Weinzettel and Peterson lost at first doubles, 6-1, 6-1.

Williams and Judge lost at second doubles, 6-4, 6-3 and Dabruzzi and Lauren Mattmiller lost at third doubles, 6-2, 6-2.

In the second round against Elk River, Hastings lost 5-2.

The Hastings wins were both earned in doubles action. The No. 1 team of Lundquist and Tjomsland won 6-2, 6-0. The third team of Dabruzzi and Williams also won, 6-4, 6-3.

In the third and final round, Hastings won 5-2 over Winona.

Lundquist won at first singles, 6-2, 6-3.

Tjomsland won at second singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Foster also won, picking up a victory at fourth singles.

Weinzettel and Peterson teamed up to win at first doubles, 6-3, 7-5.

Dabruzzi and Mattmiller won at third doubles, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0.

Vs Forest Lake

Hastings lost to Forest Lake, 4-3.

Suchmova and Lundquist lost atop the singles play.

Tjomsland and Foster each earned wins.

In doubles, Weinzettel and Peterson won, 6-1, 6-2.

The second double steam of Maddie Carlson and Judge lost 6-3, 6-2 and the third team of Dabruzzi and Williams lost 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
