Raider boys place fourth at SEC track and field championships

The Hastings boys track and field team had a strong finish at the Suburban East Conference championships last week. The Raiders placed fourth in the meet with 97 points. A total of 10 teams competed at the meet.

The meet was won by Mounds View, which finished with 201.5 points. White Bear Lake was second and Stillwater was third.

The 4x400 relay team won a conference title. Wes Evansen won the pole vault and Clayton Johnson won the 300 hurdles.

Results from the meet went like this:

4x800 relay – team of Bobby Verchota, Mason Minnick, Kyle Gudmunson and Sam Shepherd, eighth, 8:46.24.

110 high hurdles – Clayton Johnson, ninth, 15.88; Austin Getting, 28th, 18.42.

Girls

The Hastings girls placed 10th out of 10 teams with 27 points. Mounds View won. East Ridge was second and White Bear Lake was third.
