Public Safety Night is Cruise-In theme
The third of 10 Cruise-In car shows, with the special theme of "Public Safety Night," will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 26, on Second Street and some of the side streets in the downtown area. The theme will be reflected with emergency vehicles, including fire trucks, ambulances and police vehicles parked on Second Street.
The Downtown Business Association is sponsoring the shows every other Saturday through Oct. 2.
The streets in the downtown area will be posted as to where parking is, and is not, allowed. People with classic cars can legally park their vehicles after 3 p.m.
The Saturday Night Cruise-ins are open to all cars 1976 and older. There can be no burnouts, no exhaust flames or hydraulics. No rollerblades, bicycles, skateboards or motorized bikes are allowed. There is no alcohol allowed on the streets.
The schedule for this year is as follows (after this Saturday): July 10 and 24, Aug. 7 and 21, Sept. 4 and 18, and Oct. 2. Aug. 7 is designated as "Military Night " and Aug. 21 is designated as "America's First Fifty."
