Prescott pounds Ellsworth 12-1

Prescott's position in the St. Croix Valley League is still solid as the Pirates pounded Ellsworth 12-1 in eight innings in a league contest at Young Field.

Mark Moriarty started the game for Prescott as he went six innings only allow one hit, albeit, a solo home run to the Hubbers' Nate Hove.

Jim French had three hits, two singles and a double while driving in four runs. Nick Johnson, Chris Terrazas and Dillon Powell each had two hits with one of Powell's being a two-run homer.

Alex Ross pitched the 7th and 8th innings as the Pirates ten-runned the Hubbers in the 8th.

Also in league play Wednesday, Menomonie topped Osceola 10-5. The Eagles host Elmwood Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Wakanda Park.

Other weekend games involving Pierce County's SCVL teams has Plum City at Bay City and Ellsworth at Elmwood Saturday, both 1 p.m. games. On Sunday the Hubs' travel to Plum City and Hager City is at Bay City, also 1 p.m. contests.

Plum City's contest with Menomonie was made up for Tuesday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Wakanda Park in Menomonie.
