Police report preview - Sept. 22 to Sept. 28

• Political signs were stolen from a lawn in the 300 block of Whispering Lane. They were signs about the upcoming marriage amendment on the ballot. They were vote "Yes" signs.

• A person was reportedly camping on ConAgra's property. The man was having a bonfire on the property. Officers found the man sleeping under a tarp.

• A shopper arrived at a liquor store in the 200 block of 33rd Street at 8:50 p.m. and wanted to buy alcohol. The store refused to sell to the man. People then saw the man drive away in a work vehicle. Officers initiated a traffic stop and confirmed the man was intoxicated.

He had a blood-alcohol-content of .28 and was arrested for DWI.

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director. He was previously general manager of the Farmington Independent and Rosemount Town Pages from 2000 to 2007. He worked at the Hastings Star Gazette from 1996 to 2000 as a photographer and reporter. He also worked as a photographer and writer at the Pope County Tribune in Glenwood.
