Police report preview - Oct. 12 to Oct. 18

Here is this week's police report preview. The entire report can be seen on Page 4A of this week's print edition.

• A painting at a business in the 1200 block of Nininger Road was damaged at 2:46 p.m. on Oct. 15. Someone scratched out the eyes of three children in the painting with a ballpoint pen, and a cross was drawn on the forehead of one person.

Officers are investigating and have a suspect in the case.

• A driving complaint led to a DWI arrest at 10:45 a.m. near the Dakota County Government Center on Oct. 16.

The suspect in the case drove his motorcycle to the county courthouse to make a court appearance. The judge hearing his case detected an odor of alcohol and eventually the man took a PBT. He had a reading of .18. He said he had been drinking until 4 a.m. and then when he woke up he realized he had court at 11 a.m.

Hastings officers were called and arrested the man as he was leaving the courthouse.

Arrested on a gross misdemeanor DWI was a 29-year-old Eagan man.

The man acknowledged to officers that he had made some “poor decisions.”

•A juvenile was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia in the area of 12th and Forest streets. A 12-year-old was cited.
