Police report preview - Nov. 14 to Nov. 20

Here is a preview of this week's police report. The complete report can be found on Page 4A of this week's print edition of the Star Gazette.

•Police were called to the Hastings Middle School on Nov. 15 on the report of a 13-year-old male who was in possession of a weapon on school property. The boy had been seen on school property after having been banned from the property the week before.

When he was seen on school property, a school resource officer approached him and found a black folding pocket knife on the boy. The boy was arrested and taken to juvenile detention.

• A fight was reported at a bar in the 1800 block of Vermillion Street on Nov. 18. One of the parties who was removed from the bar was unhappy with how he was removed from the establishment. No charges have been filed.

Chad Richardson

Chad Richardson is the news director for RiverTown Multimedia. He was the publisher of four RiverTown publications until 2016, when he was named news director. He was previously general manager of the Farmington Independent and Rosemount Town Pages from 2000 to 2007. He worked at the Hastings Star Gazette from 1996 to 2000 as a photographer and reporter. He also worked as a photographer and writer at the Pope County Tribune in Glenwood.
