Police report preview - March 9 to March 15

• A person at the detox facility in Hastings pulled a fire alarm in order to escape the facility.

He was caught and arrested.

Arrested for disorderly conduct and tampering with a fire alarm system was a 41-year-old Belle Plaine man.

The matter took place at 9:39 p.m. in the 1200 block of 18th Street.

• Two people were transported to detox after a shouting match was reported in the 500 block of 35th Street.

The call came in at 2:16 p.m.

One had a blood-alcohol-content of .24.

It was suspected that the other was under the influence of prescription medications.

• A woman's wallet was found in the men's bathroom at a convenience store in the 1500 block of Vermillion Street. The wallet was found inside a number of paper towels, which was inside a garbage can.

Officers are attempting to contact the person whose purse it was.
