Police report preview - Feb. 27 to March 4
A group of juveniles was reportedly throwing stones or small rocks at vehicles in the 1000 block of 15th Street at around 4 p.m. Feb. 27. A window was broken in one of the vehicles that passed by. When the window broke, a child inside the vehicle was injured by a piece of breaking glass. A piece of glass landed in his eye, resulting in a scratched cornea.
The teens were later located and are being referred to juvenile court for criminal damage to property.
Hastings officers received a phone call early in the morning of Feb. 29 after an intoxicated person at a bar here commented he was going to be driving home. Officers talked to the person, who was uncooperative. He then ran away.
About an hour later, at about 2:30 a.m., a man was seen walking along 33rd Street.
He wasn't wearing a shirt or a jacket and he was falling down. When officers made contact with him, he was still uncooperative. He was handcuffed and transported to Ramsey County detox. While he was being transported to the detox center, the man made numerous threats regarding specific family members of officers. He was cited for disorderly conduct.
Two 19-year-old Hastings men were transported to the Regina Medical Center emergency room after they inhaled synthetic marijuana. At the time of the call, one of the males was unconscious.
The matter was referred to the Dakota County Drug Task Force. The call came at 2:54 a.m. in the 1100 block of Bahls Drive.
A neighbor upset about a barking dog made a comment that concerned the dog's owner. The upset neighbor said he was going to put a "bullet through the dog's head" according to the police report. Parties in the matter were consulted. The call came in from the 400 block of 18th Street at 10:54 a.m.
