Police report preview - Dec. 21 to Dec. 28

• Two vehicles were seen racing on 12th Street West at 11 p.m. The 16-year-old drivers of the two vehicles admitted to racing.

They were cited for careless driving.

• The strong smell of marijuana coming from a hotel room on 33rd Street prompted officers to visit the room. Officers made contact with the occupants and ultimately arrested a man for disorderly conduct, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers seized the drugs and more than $4,000 in cash.

• Hastings officers responded to a parking lot in the 1700 block of Frontage Road at 10:59 a.m.

An off-duty St. Paul officer observed a female huffing from an aerosol can. Officers approached the woman's vehicle and observed the occupant was having a difficult time inside. She was semi-conscious.

Officers took the woman from the car.

She was placed under arrest on the probable cause charge of DWI.
