Phyllis Noreen Dorthy (Tursky) Macioch, age 89, formerly of Baldwin, Wis., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Ellsworth Care Center, Ellsworth, Wis.
Phyllis was born on Feb. 5, 1920, in Hudson, Wis., to George and Ida (Neumann) Tursky. She graduated from the Hudson High School in Hudson in 1937. She married Joseph Macioch on April 18, 1942, in Mason City, Iowa.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader. Her hobbies included collecting dolls and nutcrackers, doing crossword puzzles, watching James Dean movies, oil painting and baking and decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas.
She is survived by a son, Michael (Barbara) Macioch of Aitkin, Minn.; son-in-law, Mike Ketchmark of Eau Claire, Wis.; six grandchildren, Shaun (Melissa) Macioch of Ellsworth, Kim Christenson of Hastings, Minn., Shannon Ketchmark of Eau Claire, Tammy Ketchmark of Eau Claire, Ray Howard of Duluth, Minn., Mary Vanderwal of Zimmerman, Minn.; eight great-grandchildren, Kailey, Jesten, Abby, Paige, Andrew, James (Beth), Brianne and Rachel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe; daughter, Laurel (Lolly) Ketchmark; grandsons, Shawn and Brian Vanderwal; great-grandson, Jason Ketchmark; nine sisters, Irene Hartnett, Bernice Tursky, Harriet Tursky, Arlie Tursky, Griselda (Bud) Stoyke, Maxine Tursky, Avonda (Tat) Tursky, Audrey (Plent) Kienitz, Inez (Betty) Huls; and one brother, Frank Tursky.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth with Reverend Amy Kosari officiating. Interment will be in Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday all at the funeral home.
