Overnight lane closure scheduled for Highway 61 Bridge
Motorists traveling Highway 61 through Hastings may experience overnight delays beginning April 19 when the roadway is reduced to a single lane between Spiral Bridge Road near Hub's Landing and Third Street in Downtown Hastings.
The lane closure will take place overnight between 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, and 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, as crews reconfigure lanes to ensure that two lanes of traffic can remain open during rush hours. A flagging crew will allow for alternating traffic across the bridge during the closure.
The lane reconfiguration is needed for the next phase of construction in the area.
As is expected for the entire project, two-way traffic will remain across the river during rush hours, and access to local businesses and residences will not be affected.
Motorists and community members who have questions or concerns are encouraged to call the Hastings Bridge Project Hotline at 651-775-5244 or visit the project's website at www.dot.state.mn.us/hastingsbridge.
