Osberg's last day as city administrator in Hastings is March 22
Hastings City Administrator Dave Osberg submitted his letter of resignation to the city council Tuesday evening. His last day is scheduled to be Friday, March 22. Osberg is leaving the City of Hastings to become the city administrator for the City of Eagan. He is set to begin his new job there March 25.
"For 24 years I have had the privilege of serving as the City Administrator for the City of Hastings," Osberg wrote in his letter of resignation. "During this time period the opportunity to work with a long list of dedicated Elected Officials, Department Heads and all City employees is truly the most satisfying part of my tenure as City Administrator for the City of Hastings. Each is committed to provide quality service to a tremendous group of citizens, who all make up the unique and affectionate community that is Hastings. For the many years of support and encouragement I extend a heart felt thanks to all of you. Any success achieved during this time period is only due to the hard work and dedication of Elected Officials, Department Heads and City Employees."
The administrative committee of the Hastings City Council scheduled a meeting at 7 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, to discuss the vacancy Osberg will leave behind. The administrative committee includes Anthony Alongi, Danna Elling Schultz and Ed Riveness.
