Online registration for Gobble Gait closes late on Nov. 20
Hastings Minnesota 745 Spiral Boulevard 55033

The 15th annual Gobble Gait is just one week away.

Online preregistration for the Thanksgiving-day event will conclude at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Registration can be done the night before the race at the pre-race pasta party and same day registration is allowed prior to the start of the race on Nov. 22.

The annual Gobble Gait, with its familiar message of raising funds and food for Hastings Family Service, will begin at 8:30 a.m with the 8K run. The 2K event will begin immediately after the 8K runners leave.

So far, the weather forecast looks favorable for the event. High temperatures (as of Wednesday morning) are forecast to be in the 40s on Thanksgiving day. The previous night, the low will be 32.

Well-known Twin Cities gospel vocalist Robert Robinson will sing the national anthem before the race begins. Organizers said that an anonymous donor funded Robinson's appearance.

Since that first Gobble Gait in 1998 more than a half million dollars and tons of food has been raised, all of which has stayed here to help those in need in the community.

A pre-race pasta party will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at The Onion Grille, 100 Sibley St. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 10 and younger.

Race kit package pickups will be available from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Woodbury Running Room.

The registration fee is $30 ($35 after Nov. 20) for the 8K run and $10 for the 2K walk. The family fee (for immediate family members) is $25.

Online registration is available now (until Nov. 20) at More information is available at 651-437-1070.
