Molly Rhoads takes part in fourth annual Raptor Bowl
Molly Rhoads, local stock car driver, participated in the fourth annual Raptor Bowl at Brit's Pub in Minneapolis July 15. She was invited by former Minnesota Vikings All-Pro linebacker and event director Matt Blair to join the U.S. Olympic curling team and other celebrities to compete in the celebrity portion of the Raptor Bowl.
Rhoads, who races in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series in the Super Late Model Division throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, was teamed with former Minnesota Wild defenseman Brad Bombardir, Jason Smith from the curling team and Viktor, Minnesota Vikings mascot.
After competing in the celebrity portion, Rhoads and the other celebrities were referees for the lawn bowling tournament that consisted of 24 teams. Proceeds from the live auction and the lawn bowling tournament benefited the Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota.
Rhoads and her super late model vehicle will be at Dakota County Technical College's Septemberfest Saturday, Sept. 12.
