Merchants Bank has food drive
Merchants Bank in Hastings will partner again this year with Hastings Family Service (HFS) and area schools to help those in need during the "10 Days of Giving" food drive, Dec. 1 to Dec. 10.
Last year, students from around the Hastings area and community members collected $17,118 to help those who were less fortunate. In addition, 4,648 pounds of food were collected during the Holiday Train visit to Hastings. That food was collected in conjunction with the "10 Days of Giving."
"Last year was successful, and we believe that we will surpass that amount of giving this year with your help," said Merchants Bank of Hastings President Bruce Goblirsch. "Hastings Family Service does a tremendous job, and we are very happy to support its efforts."
The Holiday Train is scheduled to arrive at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the depot. All food and money collected benefits Hastings Family Service food shelf.
Area residents are encouraged to drop off monetary donations and non-perishable food items at Merchants Bank, 1525 Vermillion St.
