Marching band plans to hold indoor concert Sunday at HHS

The Hastings High School Marching Band has an indoor concert planned for 4 p.m. Sunday at the high school.

It has been a successful season for the Hastings High School Marching Band.

This weekend, Hastings area residents can get sampling of the music and talents of the 75 members.

The indoor concert will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, in the Hastings High School gym, 200 General Sieben Drive. Tickets are $4 and will be available at the door.

This year, the band has performed at the home Raider football games and weekly competitions in the area. They have taken top honors at the weekend events.

Even before school started, the band marched in six parades, including Hastings Rivertown Days. They also took at trip to Boston where they performed at two locations, while also touring some of the historical landmarks.

The marching band director is Emily Chandler.

Before Sunday's concluding event, the band will perform Saturday in a competition at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
