Letter: In support of Dan Cater
To the Editor,
On Nov. 5, I urge you to cast your ballot for Dan Cater for school board. I’ve known Dan and his family for many years, and I know him to be a person of integrity, honesty and compassion. He has very effectively served on the School Board for the past eight years– the past two as Board chair– and I know he will continue to support quality education for our students over the next four years. With Dan’s leadership and diligence, the school board has been able to provide enhanced technology and course offerings for students, to provide our children with safer facilities and to put the district on strong financial footing.
Dan knows that strong schools are a definite benefit to our community as a whole and that we need to provide strong educational programs to students of all educational needs. His compassionate and congenial style will ensure that the school board will work together effectively and efficiently to the benefit of our students, teachers, parents and community as a whole.
I have always appreciated Dan’s friendship and his innate ability to communicate not only with his school board colleagues, but to Hastings residents as well. He is always willing to take time to listen to concerns and questions or to simply say “hello.” I know he will continue to serve us well.
Again, I urge you to cast your ballot in favor of Dan Cater on Nov. 5.
