To the editor,
As election day draws near, we encourage readers to vote for Angie McGinnis as she seeks re-election for a second term on the Hastings School Board.
We met Angie shortly after she moved to Hastings, and we have come to know her personally and professionally over the years. The following are just a few examples why Angie has successfully represented the Hastings Public Schools as a board member:
Educator — Angie is a trained educator who understands how successful school districts, teachers, and administrators operate. In addition to her experience teaching in the Hastings Public School District, Angie currently works as the Director of St. Philip’s Preschool.
Parent — Angie is a wonderful parent to two school-age students in the Hastings School District. She has been actively engaged in her children’s school, as well as all schools throughout the district, to support the work of teachers and students. When issues arise, Angie is an active listener who values input from others.
Community member — Angie has been an active volunteer benefitting many of Hastings’ organizations. She served as the co-chair of Bridge to a Cure, a local cancer walk that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars during her leadership. Angie has been on our church council, donated time teaching children on Sunday mornings, served on the Hastings Family Service Board of Directors, and volunteered countless hours in local classrooms.
School board member — Angie has served a successful term as a member of the Hastings School Board. As a community and school district, we are fortunate to have Angie’s name on the ballot to represent our children for another four years. Show your support for Angie McGinnis by getting out to the polls to vote on Nov. 5.
