Letter: Concerts at the LeDuc Estate are a better fit
To the editor,
On behalf of the Hastings Concert Association board, I am responding to last week’s editorial relating to the concert series held at the LeDuc Estate on Sunday evenings in August.
Since our move to the LeDuc (which is City of Hastings property) several years ago, our attendance has increased to 250 to 300 people. Parking is ample, noise almost non-existent, handicapped restrooms are easily available and the refreshment organizations are provided with tables, outlets and kitchen access.
The concerts are free and people are welcome to wander the grounds. For a small fee, everyone is invited to a guided tour of the inside of the estate before the concerts begin.
As for the music, community members request a variety of entertainment, which we have provided for the public.
We have received only positive feedback about our summer concerts at the LeDuc. Let’s keep them in that location.
