Larry Johnson Sr., 66
Larry Lee Johnson Sr., age 66, of Prescott, Wis., and recently of Hastings, Minn., lost his battle with brain cancer on Aug. 23.
Larry was born Feb. 13, 1947, in Sioux Falls, S.D., and was known to many as "Craze." He lived in Prescott most of his life and also traveled the U.S. and Europe because his father was in the military. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1966 and later earned an associate's degree in telecommunications. Larry was a business owner in Prescott (Riverboat Junction) for 12 years prior to beginning a new career with ADC Telecommunications in Eden Prairie, Minn.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia I. Johnson (Ryan); his children, Cheryl Lindgren (Michele Jacques), Larry Johnson Jr. (Mary), and Laura Keller (Rick), all residing in Hastings, Minn., and Brett Petersen (nephew) from Anoka, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Victor, Milton, and Jade Lindgren, Tori, Tyler, and Tara Johnson, Andrew, Autumn, Alex, and Amber Keller; his sister Katherine "Kittie" Shaw (Robert) of Poulsbo, Wash., and nieces Dawn Cox (Dean) and Stacey Ames of Washington; nephews James "Jamie" Petersen (Chris) and daughter Amanda of Prescott, Wis., Rich Petersen (Cindy), Ryan Petersen of Texas; sister-in-law Betty Benoy of Atwater, Calif., and her family.
He had many interests and hobbies that he shared with family and friends including boating, swimming, motorcycling, RV traveling, vacationing, bowling, darts and pool, working on cars, canvas making, and many home projects.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Kathleen "Doris" Johnson.
Services for Larry will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Hill Funeral Home, Prescott. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
