Kimball benefit is Sunday
A benefit for Sharon Kimball of Hastings, a long-time volunteer with the Project Share Auction team, will be held Sunday, Oct. 20, at the American Legion clubrooms, 50 Sibley St., to help pay medical and other bills. There will be a spaghetti dinner and auction.
Kimball had major surgery Sept. 24, and while the outcome was positive, she will not be able to work for two to three months. She has no insurance. She works part-time at three jobs.
Her family has organized the spaghetti dinner/auction and the Jack Hines Auction Service with Hines and Clarence Rotty acting as auctioneers for the live auction.
The dinner with spaghetti, salad and garlic bread is at noon. The cost is $12 for adults and free for children 6 and younger. Tickets are available at the door.
The live auction begins at 2 p.m. and items such as gift certificates and household items in good condition are being accepted. The items can be dropped off at the American Legion clubrooms starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 20. For pickup, contact Clarence Rotty at 651-470-7939 or 651-437-9357.
Financial donations are also being accepted. Checks should be made payable to: Support for Sharon, Wells Fargo Bank, 13631 University Ave., Clive, IA 50325. More information is available at www.fundrazr.com. Search: Support for Sharon.
