James R. Duffy, 63
James R. Duffy, 63, of Roslyn, S.D. and formerly of Hastings, Minn., died Sunday, Jan. 5, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Day County.
James Russell, son of Robert and Marlyn (Keene) Duffy was born July 15, 1950, in Minnesota. Jim worked many years as a pipefitter for Local 455. He found a love for training dogs and took part in many field trials. He moved to South Dakota for hunting and fishing.
James is survived by his children, Angela (Gordy Plan) Duffy, Kelly (Justin) Toenyan, both of Cottage Grove, Minn., James (Rachael Lindemann) Duffy of Hastings, Minn., and Tracy Bottolson; parents, Robert and Marlyn; brothers, Pat (Brenda), and John (Cheryl); sisters, Colleen (Dennis) Becker, Karen (David) Dahl, Sharon Penrose, and Joanne (Scott) Peters; and grandchildren, David, Madison, Tucker, Evelynn, Wyatt, Kendall, Kahley, Kaitlyn, and Shania; and many nieces; nephews; and friends.
Memorial gathering for James will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Eagle's Club, 1220 Vermillion St., in Hastings, MN.
