Investigator with medical examiner's office has laptop stolen in Roseville
Roseville Police still have no new leads and no recovered items from the Aug. 8 theft of a medical examiner investigator's computer. The investigator, Navid Amini, is an investigator for Regina Medical Center in Hastings, which is home to the Minnesota Regional Medical examiner's office.
According to the Roseville Police report, the report of the theft was made shortly before 4:30 p.m., Aug. 8 by Navid Amini. The laptop computer and a purse containing cash and credit cards were taken from his vehicle parked in the Central Park parking lot off of Lexington Avenue. A passenger side window was broken to gain entry to the vehicle.
The Regional Medical Examiner's Office handles medical exams for Dakota, Chisago and Goodhue Counties. The computer apparently contained data and photographs from crime scenes.
According to the police report, a crime alert was activated for the area. The computer's serial number was also entered into the Automated Pawn System.
